Q: What requirements are needed to take the PMP Exam?

You need a 35-hour course related to Project management to qualify to take the PMP exam. This includes courses from PMI Education Providers, Company courses, Colleges and Technical schools, and others courses verified with PMI. You can satisfy this requirement with this PMP Exam Prep Course.

Q: How are the 4.500 to 7,500 hours experience calculated?

Not as difficult as most think it is. The time can be overlapping and based on time spent on the project itself. If degreed, you need to identify 4,500 hours experience you worked on projects in various capacities in the last six years. You don’t need the title of project manager for all of your experience. If non degreed you need to identify 7,500 hours experience you worked on projects in various capacities in the last eight years The hours are calculated according to the five Process groups or life cycle phases used by PMI. This course provides a worksheet to put all your hours in and tie them together BEFORE you make you application.

Q: Should I register for the exam before taking the class?

That’s not possible unless you meet the requirement for 35 hours of Project management training BEFORE you apply for the certification exam. If you have fulfilled the requirement you can apply anytime and need to state the training you are using to qualify.

This course helps you through the application process in time to schedule your exam date. Once you apply and are accepted you have six months to take the exam.

Q: How and where is the PMP Examination given?

The exam is computer based. It is given by the Sylvan -Prometric test centers with three locations in the Dallas area. Exams are administered seven days a week at the various locations. You will have 200 multiple-choice questions and four hours to complete the exam. You will receive your test score and whether you passed immediately after completing the exam.

Q: Am I a PMP once I have successfully passed the exam?

Technically you are. You will receive official notification from PMI in two to three weeks with a certificate, your PMP number and a PMI PMP pin.

Q: Why should I get the PMP - How will it help me?

The PMP certification is one of the highest certifications available for Professional Project Managers from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Project Managers with the PMP show a higher level of professionalism, structure and overall knowledge of Project Management, which consistently has enabled PMP’s to command higher salary levels and the best positions within companies.
